We are human, and part of being human is experiencing fear. Fear can hold us back in our movement, but without fears, we wouldn’t have the opportunity to be courageous. Recognizing our fears and being able to put them into words and articulate them, however, is the first step to overcoming them.
In this 2 1/2-hour workshop, we will work through our fears through yoga, intentional writing, African dance and meditation, with the goal of releasing them and purposefully moving forward. Each of us hold incredible power within and this workshop seeks to unveil them so that we can dive and live in our power and our purpose.
We will start our workshop with awakening breathwork and a heart-opening flow lead by Nicolle Barrett aimed at opening the physical and emotional heart space. Once the heart is feeling more open, participants will be guided into intentional journaling with the goal of articulating and expressing a particular fear that holds them back. Following, we will release what no longer serves us through African dancing lead by Joanna and share our experiences. Sharing is not mandatory, of course, but it gives us the opportunity to be heard and be supported.
Lastly, participants will be encouraged to be held accountable by sharing one thing that they are willing and ready to do in order to move forward and grow. We are excited to welcome you at Teranga Yoga for this powerful workshop
